Projects supported in 2007/2008
|

In the summer of 2007, the Netherlands China Arts Foundation received an assignment of the Dutch ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs to invest in cultural relations between China and the Netherlands. Since then, it has supported a broad range of projects in both China and the Netherlands, covering a broad range of cultural disciplines, from modern dance, music, heritage, puppet theatre, documentaries, to visual arts and design.

Music from the Netherlands

The Netherlands China Arts Foundation organises four concerts of the renowned Dutch music ensembles the Nieuw Ensemble and the Orchestra of the 18th Century in China. The concerts will take place at the new National Grand Theatre in Beijing, also called the National Centre for the Performing Arts, in November 2008.

Dutch cultural programme Expo 2010

The Dutch ministry of Education, Culture and Science has asked the Netherlands China Arts Foundation to make a plan for a cultural programme around the Dutch entry of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai. The foundation will devise a cultural programme for the Dutch pavilion, the Expo site, and also for venues in Shanghai and elsewhere in China.

Information meeting Cultural Collaboration with China
|

On Wednesday 25 June, the Dutch Centre for International Cultural Activities / SICA and the Netherlands China Arts Foundation, organised an information meeting about cultural collaboration with China for the Dutch cultural field. Around 120 cultural organisations / artists attended the meeting. Topics discussed were: the latest developments in the arts scene in China, the cultural exchange between China and the Netherlands, and the role the Netherlands can play in a country like China by means of its cultural relations.

HUB a China satellite for theatre and dance
|

|
| |
A recent project that receive support from the foundation is the HUB: a satellite of the Theater Instituut Nederland (TIN) and the Vlaams (Flanders) Theater Instituut (VTi). The HUB aims to connect the Dutch and Flemish theatre fields with their peers in China by offering guidance and advice, as well as coordinating long-term projects that further elaborate interaction between the Chinese, Dutch and Flemish performing arts scene.
